1. About these terms

These terms cover all of our services: the website at smartpathsg.com, our games, practice tools, Community Q&A and other pages on smartpathsg.com and its subdomains, the emails we send, and any new service we offer under the SmartPathSG name (“our services”). SmartPathSG is run by its founders, and “we” in these terms means us. By using our services, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

If you are under 13, you need your parent or guardian’s permission to create an account or to post anything.

Some features may have extra rules, for example a competition or a class. We will show you those rules before you take part, and they apply together with these terms.

2. Your account

• Signing in: you sign in with your email address or another way we offer. You don’t need an account to use every part of our services, but some features need one.
• Keeping it safe: you are responsible for your account. Do not share your sign-in codes or let others use your account. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.
• Emails we send: with an account, we may email you sign-in codes, summaries of your progress, replies and updates about things you asked or reported, notices about changes to our services, and occasional news about SmartPathSG that we think you may be interested in. To stop progress summaries or news, email us at hello@mail.smartpathsg.com.
• Closing your account: you can stop using our services at any time. You or your parent can ask us to delete your account and its data by emailing us.

3. What you post and send us

Some of our services let you post things others can see, such as questions in Community Q&A, or send things to us, such as a report about a mistake or feedback. Posts in public places can be read by anyone.

• What you may post: things about learning, in your own words.
• What you may not post: anything rude, hurtful or unsafe; advertising; other people’s work passed off as your own; or personal details such as a full name, school, phone number, address or photos, about yourself or anyone else.
• We review posts: we may edit, hold back or remove anything you post, for example to correct a mistake or keep someone’s details private.
• Permission to publish: by posting, you let us publish, edit and display it in our services, including in answers and guides we write later.
• Your ideas: if you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve SmartPathSG without owing you anything.

4. Fair use

Our services are for your own learning. You agree not to:

• cheat, or use exploits or other software to change your scores or stats;
• pretend to be someone else;
• try to hack, disrupt or overload our services;
• copy our content in bulk, or use bots or scrapers to collect it;
• use our services for anything other than your personal, educational use.

If an account breaks these rules, we may limit, suspend or close it.

5. Educational content, not a guarantee

Our guides, practice questions, games, videos and articles are there to support your learning. We work hard to make them accurate, but they are general guidance: they do not replace your teachers, and using them does not guarantee any result or grade.

6. Our content

The questions, guides, articles, videos, graphics, code and the SmartPathSG name belong to us, except where a page credits another source (for example, some exercises are adapted from openly licensed material, and each such page says so). You may not copy, share or build on our content without our permission, apart from printing or saving it for your own study.

7. Changes to our services

SmartPathSG keeps growing. We may add, change, pause or stop any feature or service at any time. If we stop a service that holds your progress, we will try to tell you in advance.

Our services are free today. If we ever offer something that costs money, we will show you the price and any extra terms first, and you will never be charged unless you agree to pay.

8. Links to other sites

We link to other sites, such as YouTube. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your data.

9. Our responsibility

We provide our services as they are. We try to keep them running and correct, but we cannot promise they will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using them.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as SmartPathSG grows. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. For major changes, we will tell you before they take effect, by email or with a notice on our services. If you keep using our services after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can stop using our services and ask us to delete your account.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
